Commercial Manager Crop Protection

SUMMARY:

An established agrochemicals company is seeking a commercially strong Crop Protection Manager to be responsible for a large Key Account and to manage the margins, supply chain and logistics as well as technical portfolio, whilst leading the strategy for long term growth and profitability for the crop protection portfolio in Southern Africa.

POSITION INFO:


Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a tertiary qualification in a technical or commercial field
• Previous sales or marketing experience within the crop protection industry is essential
• Must have commercial experience , including managing pricing, margins, supply chain and key accounts
• Can be based in either Cape Town or Gauteng
• Must have proven knowledge of managing distributors and agents

• Ensuring the team delivers on their financial targets by working closely with the Country Leader and the Territory Marketing Managers.
• Developing plans on an annual basis for key products and/ or crops aligned with global strategies and ensuring that they are deployed in the sales organization to deliver the strategies designed and the financial results planned.
• Preparing annual plans with clear assumptions and aligned with company growth strategies.
• Reviewing on a monthly schedule, the 24 months forecast based on the assumptions defined and the key changes happening on them.
• Identifying portfolio opportunities such as product gaps, product differentiation or formulations that can maximize the profitability long term.
• Growing the business, gaining market share and delivery of the financial results with an emphasis on the qualitative aspect of the business.
• Conducting market research as needed to understand the customer needs and the ways to maximize market share and profitability.
