Company Secretary

A globally competitive company has a vacancy for a Company Secretary for a 1-year fixed term contract in the Durban area.

To provide guidance on governance matters to the Board and committees and the company and implement measures to ensure compliance within the applicable regulatory environment.

• Extensive knowledge of Legislation relating to public entities specifically with regard to the PFMA & King IV
• Functioning of Boards; Development, review and tracking of Board packs and matters arising; Advisory services to Board and executive
• Public Policy and Compliance management
• Management techniques and sound business practices
• Risk Management
• Performance monitoring and evaluation to enhance service delivery
• People management skills
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced Knowledge of professional and business ethics
• Understanding of basic Financial Management
• Advanced computer skills

• Honours Degree in Law
• 3 to 5 years’ experience as Company Secretary
• 2-3 years public sector experience
• Member of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries
