JOB SUMMARY:
Our Client is looking for a Components Foreman in the Boksburg Area

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Vacancy Description
To oversee, control and ensure that all work done on the components is in line with statutory regulations and company quality standards.
Provide on-the-job- training and guidance to the employees and oversee the Component Shop in line with company quality procedures and health and safety requirements.
Conduct inspections on components and machines on a daily basis.

Qualifications and experience required:
Qualified in relevant trade (Diesel Mechanic/ Heavy Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic)
Minimum 5 years experience in machine assembly
Computer literate and conversant with MS Office
Hydraulic knowledge
Mining Industry knowledge
Customer focus and liaison
Management experience

Duties and Responsibilities
Planning
Plan, organise, lead and control the day-to-day activities of the Component Shop to ensure that it is maintained in line with the various employment, health and safety, factory and work rules in accordance with the workshop objectives and instructions.
Compile, coordinate and list the bills of materials required for each rebuild and new machine manufactured at all times.
Coordinate the production in the Component Shop daily according to the available resources.
Ensure that component work is done within the time periods prescribed, cost-effectively, and evaluate the job progress by assigning work as well as employees required and report any material or labour requirements to the Workshop Manager.
Support the Workshop Manager in demonstrating a continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality ouput at all times.

Repair Maintenance and Breakdowns
Oversee the work as well as installation, maintenance and repairs of machines to ensure that all work complies to the minimum legal requirements and Company standards before the machine is signed off.

Reporting
Report the progress of jobs and highlight the areas of concern to the Workshop Manager immediately.

Quality control
Ensure and maintain that quality control is in place at all times

Receiving Reports
Assist the Workshop Manager in conducting thorough Receiving Reports on all machines received.

Inspections

Conduct inspections to ensure that all work complies to the minimum legal requirements and Company standards and that the correct inspections are always in place.

Final Inspection Reports
Assist the Workshop Manager in conducting thorough Final Inspection Reports on all components and machines

Tool & Equipment Maintenance
Ensure maintenance is done on all tools and equipment items such as welding machines, grinders and general tools etc., to prevent failure or damage to any tools and equipment on a daily basis.
Advise the Workshop Manager of the minimum tools and equipment requirements on a daily basis.

Customer Complaints
Ensure that Customer Complaints and claims are treated as priority and resolved to everyone’s satisfaction.

Training and Development
Provide on the job training for personnel in skills of component repair, maintenance and requirements of specific Job Descriptions
Ensure that training needs are identified and employees upskilled where necessary.

Guidance
Assist employees with personal and team concerns, while referring those issues for which company facilitation is required to the Human Resources department.
Ensure that the accurate and timely record keeping of daily timesheets takes place, referring subsequent queries to the Workshop Manager.
