SUMMARY:
Job Title : Construction Site Supervisor – Water & Wastewater Projects
Contract Type : 12-month fixed-term contract
(Strong possibility of permanent employment and deployment on future projects,
subject to performance and project pipeline)
Location : Ceres, Western Cape (site-based)
The role supports the delivery of a turnkey wastewater treatment plant project, encompassing civil, mechanical, and electrical works through to commissioning. The site includes process infrastructure, a small laboratory, MCC and boiler room buildings, as well as limited access road works.
Project value is approximately R60 million, with a site workforce peaking at ±30 personnel.

Role Purpose
The Construction Site Supervisor will be responsible for full-time on-site execution of works, ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality delivery in accordance with programme, budget, and technical requirements. The role reports to the Contracts / Project Manager and plays a key role in coordinating subcontractors and managing site activities through installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-time on-site supervision of civil, mechanical, and electrical construction activities
- Coordination and control of subcontractors and site resources
- Oversight of installation, testing, and commissioning activities
- Act as Construction Supervisor in terms of the OHS Act 85 of 1993, Section 8(7)
- Enforce Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) compliance
- Maintain accurate daily site records, site diaries, progress reports, and as-built documentation
- Identify, manage, and escalate site risks, variations, and change control items
- Ensure works are executed in line with drawings, specifications, and approved methodologies
- Liaise with engineering, procurement, and project management teams
- Support inspections, handovers, and close-out documentation
Minimum Qualifications & Experience- BTech / National Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in site-based project execution within EPC / EPCM industrial environments
- Practical working knowledge of civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines
- Experience on water or wastewater treatment plants highly advantageous
- Solid understanding of construction sequencing, installation leadership, and commissioning support
- Strong knowledge of OHS, quality assurance, and risk management practices
- Computer literacy in standard project and reporting tools
