SUMMARY:
A consulting engineering company in the building services industry is seeking an electrical engineer.

POSITION INFO:
We are looking for a skilled and driven Building Services Consulting Electrical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering consultancy. In this role, you will lead or support the design and delivery of innovative, energy-efficient electrical systems for a wide range of projects—including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and specify electrical systems including LV distribution, lighting, fire alarms, data, and power systems.
Produce detailed technical drawings, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
Carry out calculations, load assessments, and equipment sizing in compliance with BS7671 and other relevant standards.
Participate in project meetings, coordination with other disciplines, and liaison with clients, architects, and contractors.
Conduct site inspections, surveys, and commissioning support.
Ensure designs meet sustainability goals, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements:

Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
3+ years of experience in electrical design within a consultancy or MEP environment.
Strong knowledge of building services codes, standards, and best practices (e.g., CIBSE, IET, BS/IEC regulations).
Proficiency in design and calculation software (e.g., Dialux, Amtech, Revit MEP).
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
