POSITION INFO:
Purpose
Responsible for the overall management of mining equipment maintenance projects. Assists in staffing, outlining project plans, setting project goals/deadlines, and evaluating performance. Ensures the safety and health of mine workers. Recommends corrective action when problems are detected.

Minimum Qualifications
Trade Certificate: Diesel Mechanic OR Auto Electrician OR Millwright is essential.
Diploma: Relevant Management qualification advantageous.
Minimum Experience
Mining Equipment or Mining Industry: Operational 7 years; Managerial 3 years

Roles and Responsibilities include inter alia:
Strategy Development and Implementation
Develop and implement site plan and objectives and align with departmental objectives
Ensuring site production standards and product conform to end user requirements and standards
Manage the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities of the site
Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the site
 
Maintenance and Repair Management
Ensure project results are achieved according to set standards and objectives
Staff Management
Scheduling work to be carried out to ensure production targets are achieved
Ensuring minimum stock levels at site
 
Staff Management
Excellent communications skills and management skills
Manage staff in effective manner
Planning, directing and overseeing the operations and fiscal health of the site
Planning and maintaining work systems, procedures, and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance the team
 
Driving Licenses
Valid Code 08 driver’s license
