Requirements:Turner Trade Certificate
3-5 years experiences in machine shop environment
Experience working large manual lathes (8m lathe)
Experience as a Machine Conventional Turner
Working knowledge of machinery and measurement tools
Understanding of production procedures
Ability to read drawings, production schematics, manuals and QA
reports
Physical stamina and strength
Apply workshop health, safety and housekeeping standards.
Knowledge of safe machine practice standards
Duties:Examine detailed drawings and or specifications to determine the job requirements including method, sequence of operations, material, and equipment requirements.
Calculate dimensions and tolerances.
Apply drawings or follow work instruction where available.
Set up, adjust, and operate manual metalworking machines (such as conventional lathes) and equipment (cutting tool) to produce required components.
Monitor the speed and feed of machine to ensure that it functions optimally.
Check accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools and sub-assemblies using measuring tools as per the QA inspection report requirements.
Maintain activity log.
Repair faulty tools and fix issues that may occur.
Take care of any tools, machinery, vehicles, or other company property entrusted to you.
All work areas must be kept neat and tidy.
Report any problems, errors, raw material shortages to
Workshop Manager.
