Introduction

An opportunity is available for an experienced Conveyancing Secretary to join a dynamic property team in Cape Town. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong administrative and organisational capabilities, who can manage conveyancing transactions efficiently from initiation through to final registration. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the conveyancing function and ensuring seamless coordination between all parties involved in property transactions.

POSITION INFO:

Duties

Manage bond instructions from initiation through to finalisation.
Prepare and maintain accurate conveyancing files and documentation in line with required standards.
Provide administrative and organisational support to the conveyancing practice.
Draft bond documentation and ensure compliance with relevant processes.
Liaise effectively with financial institutions and all stakeholders involved in transactions.
Attend to lodgements and registrations, including bond cancellations and new bond instructions.
Handle financial aspects related to conveyancing transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain consistent communication and follow-ups to ensure deadlines are met.

Requirements

Matric certificate.
2–5 years’ relevant experience as a Conveyancing Secretary is essential.
Proven experience working with bond registrations, particularly within banking environments.
Relevant legal secretary, paralegal, or conveyancing qualification (advantageous).
Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications.
Practical experience with conveyancing systems such as Lexis Convey, E4, and Windeed.
