Corporate Actuarial Analyst

POSITION INFO:
This well-established insurance organisation is building out its Corporate Actuarial function and is looking for a curious, driven, and analytically sharp professional to join the team. You’ll be part of a function that sits at the heart of financial and regulatory reporting, strategic actuarial insight, and continuous model innovation — where your work directly influences business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the calculation and analysis of technical provisions for financial reporting
• Prepare, review, and analyse IFRS 17 actuarial input
• Assist with the development, testing, and maintenance of IFRS 17 models, processes, and controls
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and compliant actuarial reporting
• Contribute to improvements in actuarial methodologies and reporting frameworks
• Drive process improvement, digitisation, and automation initiatives
• Research and apply actuarial and accounting standards to specialised insurance products

• Education:
  • Degree in Actuarial Science with strong academic performance
  • Nearly or newly qualified Actuary (ASSA or equivalent) and member of a recognised actuarial body
• Experience:
  • 3+ years’ experience, preferably within the Short-Term Insurance industry
  • Strong experience in reserving and/or actuarial reporting
  • General insurance background advantageous
  • Exposure to IFRS 17 / IFRS is beneficial but not essential
  • Project-based experience advantageous
• Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Solid understanding of actuarial processes within an Insurance environment
  • Programming or data skills (e.g. VBA, R, and Python) advantageous
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on efficiency and automation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Self-motivated, curious, and comfortable working in a collaborative team environment
