Cost Accountant

POSITION INFO:

Our client based in Worcester, Western Cape is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical accuracy, excellent Excel skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within an agricultural production environment.

Minimum Requirements: 

• 2–3 years’ experience in cost accounting or a similar role

• Experience in an agricultural production environment will be advantageous)

• BCom Degree or relevant Finance Qualification

• Completed SAICA / SAIPA articles will be advantageous

• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

• Fluent in English and Afrikaans

• Driver's License and own reliable transport

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP Systems and Bill of Material (BOM)

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments

• Strong time management and multitasking abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurate costing for farming and packing operations

• Perform detailed cost analysis and reporting

• Monitor and analyse inventory variances, production inefficiencies, and wastage

• Maintain and report on product costing and inventory

• Oversee inventory management processes

• Collaborate with production and finance teams to implement cost control measures

• Support the budgeting and financial planning processes

• Prepare daily and weekly productivity reports

• Assist with the roll-out and implementation of new systems

• Provide general financial support to the Financial Manager
