SUMMARY:
DBN000171 – Cost Accountant – Pietermaritzburg

Purpose of the job:
To track, analyse, and report manufacturing costs accurately, helping the business control expenses, improve efficiency, and make informed financial decisions.

Required qualifications and experience:

Degree in accounting, finance, or similar.
5 - 10 years cost accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
Good grasp of cost accounting principles.
Skilled in accounting software (SYSPRO preferably).
Familiar with Business Central and Power BI is a plus.
Comfortable working with operations and on the factory floor.
Clear and effective communicator.

POSITION INFO:
Technical tasks competencies & experiences:

Track and report manufacturing costs and variances.
Keep Work Centre rates and inventory costs accurate.
Work with teams to resolve cost issues and update BOMs.
Monitor WIP and Capital WIP.
Prepare monthly cost reports and reconciliations.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and audits.
