My client in the mining sector is seeking a dynamic Cost Accountant based in Johannesburg. This opportunity is perfect for a finance professional who thrives in an operational, fastâpaced environment and is passionate about driving cost efficiency, accuracy, and profitability across the value chain. The Cost Accountant will partner closely with operations, engineering, and production teams to streamline costing processes, improve financial controls, and support strategic decisionâmaking in a highâimpact role.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and analyse standard costing, including BOMs and cost structures
Perform detailed variance analysis (labour, overheads, materials) and provide insights to management
Support monthâend reporting, cost reviews, and budgeting cycles
Track and monitor CAPEX spend, forecasts, and asset capitalisation
Drive costâsaving initiatives and assist operations with process improvements

Job Experience & Skills Required:

BCom Accounting/Cost & Management Accounting
SAICA/SAIPA Articles
CIMA is advantageous
3-5 years experience in a similar role
