POSITION INFO:

This is a true handsâon Cost Accountant opportunity where your work directly influences operational efficiency and profitability.

Our client is a reputable manufacturing business within the electrical and building industry, known for highâquality products, robust operational processes, and a collaborative culture.

Based at their Johannesburg Central manufacturing plant, this role places you at the heart of operations, with frequent interaction with the factory floor and involvement in key business decisions.

You’ll play a critical role in ensuring costing accuracy, driving insightful financial analysis, and optimising manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Calculate and monitor overhead, labour, and standard costs across production
Perform new product costing and maintain accurate standard cost structures
Analyse standard versus actual costs, investigate variances, and provide clear insights
Review production costs and recommend costâeffective improvements
Analyse and report on sales margins and profitability for the production division
Review, maintain, and analyse BOMs and routings
Manage stock and WIP reconciliations
Prepare budgets, CAPEX, and investment proposals for the production division
Partner with Sales, Production, Planning, and Procurement to support costing decisions
Prepare monthly management accounts and operational reporting

Job Experience & Skills Required:

BCom in Management Accounting
CIMA qualification advantageous
Proven experience as a Cost Accountant or Cost Analyst
Manufacturing experience is essential
Exposure to Sage X3 and CaseWare
Advanced MS Excel skills
Strong analytical, investigative, and problemâsolving ability
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (advantageous)
Handsâon, operational mindset with strong crossâfunctional communication skills
