Cost Accountant (3-month FTC)

SUMMARY:
A leading national retailer is seeking a skilled Cost Accountant to join their team on a fixed term contract. This role is ideal for a finance professional with solid manufacturing experience, a National Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting (highly advantageous), and 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role. POSITION INFO:

As the Cost Accountant, your duties include the following:
Manage and control the overtime tracking sheet, ensuring the correct process is being followed
Process and reconcile invoices
Assist with reconciling sundry vendor statements to ensure timely payments
Perform month-end transactions on SAP
Conduct production order and purchase price variance analysis
Clear duty and freight accounts on a monthly basis
Prepare and process month-end journals
Compile weekly finance presentations and monthly management reports
Prepare monthly presentations for operations meetings
Assist with preparing weekly forecasts for review with the Finance Manager
Manage and maintain costing files
Support the finance team with ad-hoc duties as required

Skills & Experience:
3-5 years of experience working in a similar role
Advanced Excel skills

Qualification:
Completed Finance or Accounting diploma or degree
Grade 12 (matric)
