Cost Accountant Isando Johannesburg Gauteng

POSITION INFO:

Cost Accountant Isando Johannesburg East Gauteng

This position will join a centralised cost accounting team located within the financial services in Isando Johannesburg East of Gauteng. You will be responsible for the accounting across multiple manufacturing sites including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.

Salary Highly Negotiable plus benefits

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

5 years of Cost Accounting experience from a product manufacturing environment
Accounting experience, preferable in a manufacturing environment using SAP or other ERP

High proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities:

Prepare journal entries related to manufacturing accounting and inventory reserves

Support accurate & timely financial statements in accordance with corporate financial policies

Process manufacturing orders as part of the month-end close process

Participate in other monthly close activities for plants in area of responsibility

Prepare account reconciliations to ensure proper balance sheet valuation

Calculate standard costing of products in SAP as part of new product workflow

Monitor variances to standard cost and correct any erroneous errors

Reconcile 3rd party warehouses
