Our client based in Rosslyn is looking for a Cost Accountant

POSITION INFO:

Job Description

• Management Information: Ensure that all input is in accordance with company laid down instructions and practices, Co-ordinate and scrutinize accounts for accuracy and consistency to previous reporting periods, publish management account, Provide variance analysis.
• Statutory Information: Complete all statistical returns, Timeous submission of statutory reports Review and analyse all inputs to the financial pack
• Budget: Supply information to departmental managers on latest available cost performances for year under review, prepare all necessary returns for budget, prepare expense budget for a financial year period and make alterations where necessary.
• Work in Progress: Ensure that physical inventory of stock is taken by all manufacturing departments at financial month end, and perpetual stock takes by other departments.
• Financial Analysis: Ensure that all Bill of Materials and standard consumption are updated regularly, Updated Bill of Materials on all Finished goods / components.
• Finished / Components: Match/balance and charge all inter branch transfers for a financial month period, Process all stock differences and scrap quantities on JDE system, Reflect standard values of all finished cans / components, Do ST/OT inter branch on Finished Goods only, Scrutinize all movement of finished cans and components in the finished goods warehouses.
• Spoilage: Reconcile spoilage in detail from the production process.
• Scrap Sales: Reconcile actual scrap to that of theoretical and provide analysis.
• Return of Packing Material: Process all relevant RMA on JDE, Invoice and credit for customers on all returns and scrap. Spoilage: Reconcile spoilage in detail from the production process.
• Maintenance / Production: Run weekly manufacturing journal on JDE and process entries.
• General Stores: Check that material requisitions are allocated to correct accounts and sub ledger, Allocation of costs.
• Claims: Control all settlement of claims, be able to provide detail progress of various claims, Provide a breakdown of all claims against various suppliers. Preparation of yearend financial statements together with supporting schedules and liaison with external auditors
• Month End: Recons and Reports, Process intercompany charge, Recon of Income statement and Balance Sheet accounts.
• JDE: Training and helping users in the different modules, Housekeeping item codes, Month End reporting and Printouts.
• Capital Expenditure: Draw up and monitor progress of all capex spent and to be spent, Capex summaries updated
  
  

Job Requirements

• BCom Accounting (CIMA/ CIS Certificate Advantageous)
• Experience working engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standard Monitoring of machine components, moulds & tooling and identification of problems proactively.
• Computer Literate – Strong excel and the to use Outlook and Word
• Cost and Management Accounting background
• Minimum 3- 5 years’ experience spent in finance environment at management level (same or similar position)
