SUMMARY:
Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Cost Accountant to join their cost accounting team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in cost accounting and financial analysis, with a strong understanding of the fruit export industry's supply chain. You will be responsible for tracking, analyzing, and controlling costs associated with fruit exports, ensuring financial efficiency, accuracy, and actionable insights.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

Monitor and track costs throughout the supply chain process – from procurement to logistics and distribution.
Analyze financial data to identify cost trends, variances, and areas for cost optimization.
Prepare cost reports and profitability analyses to support decision-making.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, production, and logistics to ensure accurate cost allocation.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes through detailed cost projections.
Recommend cost-saving strategies and process improvements.
Maintain accurate cost records and ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.

Education Requirements

BCom in Finance or Supply Chain Management preferred.
Candidates with relevant industry and system knowledge may be considered without formal qualification.

Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of cost allocation principles and financial controls.
Advanced Excel skills for data management and analysis.
High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and budgeting.
Solid understanding of the end-to-end supply chain in the fruit export industry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify cost inefficiencies.
Excellent communication skills to convey financial insights to non-financial departments.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Experience Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar cost accounting role.
Supply chain or fruit export industry experience will be highly beneficial.
Experience with QX – Operational System would be a bonus.
