SUMMARY:
Our focus client based in the North of Johannesburg within the Media Industry is currently looking for a Cost and Management Accountant to join their team.

POSITION INFO:

The main purpose of this role is ascertainment of cost, fixation of selling price, proper recording and presentation of cost data to management for measuring efficiency and for cost control and cost reduction, ascertaining the profit of each activity, assisting management in decision making process.

Duties:

• Prepare and present monthly Income statements for department’s performance report focusing on actual vs prior year, budgets and necessary analysis.
• Prepare and present the ROI reports on channel schedules monthly.
• Prepare profit by project monthly.
• Analyse each project performance monthly and identify areas of concern with corrective measures.
• Analyse operational costs monthly and identify areas of concerns and highlight to concerned user department.
• Identify possible opportunities for Gross Margin improvement and implement before year-end.
• Prepare a report tracking expenses to ensures that budget line items for expenses are not exceeded by performing an expense analysis a monthly basis.
• Provide central finance with monthly reports required for Company and Group reporting.
• Adhere to monthly reporting timelines.
• Manage the Procure to pay process for the supported departments and manage the supplier payments expectations to maintain business good reputation in the market.
• Engage both AP and Procurement monthly to discuss areas of concerns.
• Assist to ensure Capex upgrades are completed successfully, on time and within budget.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and reconcile the general ledger to the FAR monthly.
• Compliance with internal policies & procedures.
• Manage and support for annual audit process.
• For projects concluded, compare costing of the initial projects to the actual cost allocated and investigate/analyse major differences.
• Maintain the prices Masterfile and ensure that it is updated as and when required by the business.
• Work with management to review the payroll and overheads allocation per department and project to ensure correct costing and planning.
• Work closely with the planning department to complete and present the efficiency (assets and people) reports and identify areas of concern with corrective measures for management.
• Report back to management any inconstancies identified which require attention.

Job Requirements:

• Cost management diploma, CIMA, completed to CGMA or relevant Accounting Diploma/Degree.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the field of Cost Accounting/ Management Accounting
• Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, including formal communications and making presentations.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Must have the ability to work with costing terminology, as well as to numerate content for pricing and invoicing.
