POSITION INFO:
A well-established and respected organisation within the hospitality sector is seeking a Cost Controller to join its finance team in the Cape Winelands. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced operational environment where your expertise in inventory control, cost management, and financial reporting will play a critical role in supporting business performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing stock movements, maintaining procurement controls, conducting inventory reconciliations, and delivering meaningful cost analysis and reporting. This position will suit a proactive finance professional who enjoys investigating variances, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and contributing to operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Oversee stock management and inventory control processes across the business. Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile inventory movements. Investigate stock variances, losses, and discrepancies. Verify supplier deliveries and ensure accurate invoice processing. Perform purchase order, delivery note, and invoice reconciliations. Monitor stock levels to minimise wastage and shrinkage. Calculate and analyse food and beverage cost percentages. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cost reports. Conduct variance analysis and recommend process improvements. Maintain recipe costing and monitor portion control compliance. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Ensure compliance with internal controls, procurement policies, and audit requirements. Collaborate with operational teams to improve profitability and efficiency Job Experience and Skills Required: Degree or Diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a Cost Controller, Stock Controller, or similar finance-related role. Essential experience within the hospitality and\/or manufacturing sector. Solid stock management and inventory control experience. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience working with Micros POS. Infor HOS experience will be advantageous. Sage X3 experience will be advantageous. Strong analytical and financial acumen. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to investigate variances and identify cost-saving opportunities. Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple deadlines. Apply now!
