JOB SUMMARY:
Cost Engineer with 6 to 8 years experience

B Degree (B Comm. Finance/Accounting)
Project management qualification
Multiple Project Environment experience
Budgeting, Forecasting,
Cash flow and cost trends
Sound understanding of project management in relation to cost, dependencies and critical paths, scheduling and procurement
Demonstrated knowledge of project management, with hands-on experience and proficiency using project management tools and computer based costing systems
Knowledge of project management principles and practices.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provide a project cost engineering services which supports and assists the clients to ensure projects are both aligned with business objectives and meet all of the necessary requirements for successful implementation.

Key areas:

Ensure the establishment of an effective cost control function for all the project
Support Project Controls function and management thereof
Develop processes, procedures and cost control measures to ensure that decisions in projects are in compliance with company policies
Manage the cost control function on the project
Interpret client project proposals, client project briefs and scoping
Preparing project proposals and concluding mandates and charters
Procuring and assisting internal and external controls resources to the project such as procurement, scheduling, resource loading
Integrate project components and developing projects business cases(s)
Compiling preparing and presenting various reports (cost, capex, forecasting and estimation etc)
Identification, implementation & coordination of contract administration criteria, procedures & requirements for effective project cost control, budgeting & reporting (WBS & account structures, invoicing, cost & scope, change management)
Monitoring, structured control & reporting of project expenditures
Establishing the forecasting and reporting and project cash flow and cost trends
Monitoring of actual and earned project costs
