Cost and Management Accountant

SUMMARY:
An established mining operation in Rustenburg is looking for a Cost and Management Accountant to drive cost visibility, operational efficiency, and financial performance across site operations. This role offers strong exposure to plant and production environments.

POSITION INFO:
The organisation is a well-established mining producer focused on operational excellence and cost optimisation. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams to analyse costs, manage budgets, and provide insights to improve profitability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly management accounts, cost reports, and variance analysis
• Develop and maintain costing models across operations and projects
• Analyse production costs, labour, and overhead allocations
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Monitor inventory and stock controls with reconciliation oversight
• Partner with operations to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Support CAPEX tracking and project financial analysis
• Maintain financial controls and compliance with internal policies
• Provide reporting to senior management and site leadership

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• BCom Accounting / Finance or related qualification
• CIMA (completed or in progress) highly advantageous
• 3–6 years experience in cost or management accounting
• Mining, manufacturing, or industrial experience preferred
• Strong Excel and ERP system skills
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced operational environment
