Country Procurement Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client, a well-established leader in the automotive parts and logistics industry, is looking for an experienced Country Procurement Manager to join their team in Beira, Mozambique.
In this pivotal role, you’ll take full ownership of planning, purchasing, and inventory control. Your mission: to ensure the right materials are available, at the right cost, and at the right time. You’ll sit at the centre of the supply chain—connecting suppliers, logistics partners, finance, and internal teams to keep operations running seamlessly.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end demand planning cycle in ERP (SAP or similar) and Excel—forecasting, updating item data, and maintaining optimal stock levels.
• Generate accurate and cost-effective purchase orders that balance stock availability and working capital.
• Track, manage, and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery, acting swiftly on changes or delays.
• Prepare weekly and monthly dashboards covering stock performance, supplier metrics, and key risks.
• Build and manage supplier relationships, reducing lead times and resolving delivery or quality issues.
• Partner with logistics on inbound shipments, customs processes, and delivery tracking.
• Work closely with Finance to reconcile invoices, capture landed costs, and ensure compliance with audit standards.
• Lead periodic stock counts, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions.
• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service.
• Uphold strong procurement ethics, HSSE compliance, and safe handling practices at all times.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• 3–5 years’ experience in procurement, planning, or inventory management.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or a related field.
• Proficient in ERP systems (SAP MM preferred; Oracle or Dynamics also considered) and advanced Excel.
• Fluent English essential; Portuguese strongly advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident communicator and negotiator, skilled in collaboration and escalation management.
• Sound knowledge of Incoterms, import documentation, and customs procedures.
• Based in Beira, with occasional travel required.

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday: 07:30 – 17:00
• Saturday: 08:00 – 12:00
