SUMMARY:
A leading management consulting firm is seeking a Credit Risk Quant Analyst (Manager Level) to join their Johannesburg-based team. This is a prime opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking organisation that delivers strategic risk solutions to top-tier financial institutions.

POSITION INFO:
If you’re passionate about credit risk, capital modelling, and making an impact across financial markets globally, then this is the opportunity for you. You’ll be exposed to a diverse client base including banks, DFIs, micro-lenders, and retailers, while working on key strategic initiatives such as ICAAP, risk appetite, and economic capital.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and review credit risk models for impairment (IAS 39 and IFRS 9) and capital modelling.
Participate in high-impact credit risk and capital management projects.
Engage with senior stakeholders and contribute to strategic risk advisory solutions.
Collaborate with clients across multiple financial sectors to deliver quantitative insights and improvements.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education: Honours or Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative field.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a quantitative credit risk role, ideally within consulting or financial services.
Skills: Strong proficiency in SAS; and other statistical software (e.g., R and Python) is advantageous.
Must have excellent communication skills — capable of presenting technical models to non-technical stakeholders and executive management.
