Credit Control Accountant

POSITION INFO:
Our client is looking for a Credit Control Accountant to take ownership of credit control management while supporting key accounting, reporting, and compliance functions within a dynamic finance team. This role is responsible for managing the full credit control function alongside general accounting activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in mitigating credit risk, overseeing credit insurance and control processes, ensuring accurate month-end reporting, and maintaining strong financial controls across the business. Key Responsibilities: Manage the credit control function, including collections, debtor management and reducing overdue accounts Assess and monitor customer credit risk and maintain appropriate credit limits and controls Oversee credit insurance processes and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures Perform month-end close activities, including journal processing and balance sheet reconciliations Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks as well as internal and external audit requirements Prepare management reports, collection forecasts and assist with budget preparation Provide support across interbranch, functional and cross-border subsidiary finance activities Review, update and improve finance process flows, ensuring adequate segregation of duties and strong internal controls Maintain and review customer master data structures to support accurate reporting and efficient credit management Liaise with customers and banks regarding foreign payment activity and account-related queries Work closely with internal stakeholders across finance, operations and commercial teams to ensure smooth financial processes and effective collections Job Experience and Skills Required: Accounting Diploma\/Degree Proven experience in credit control and accounting Strong understanding of credit risk management, reconciliations, reporting and internal controls Strong Excel and ERP\/system skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills High attention to detail, strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach Apply now!
