JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary:
This role reports to the Financial Manager. You will be responsible for collecting debts from company debtors, evaluating new credit requests, ensuring timely payments of company debts, ability to reconcile complex debtors accounts, processing invoices, maintaining the sales ledger, and providing administrative support.

Requirements/Qualifications

Matric certificate
Degree or Diploma in Finance a definite advantage
5 years minimum credit control/debtors experience
Strong reconciliation experience
FMCG background very beneficial
Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software (SYSPRO)

Responsibilities

Evaluating new credit requests and conducting client credit checks.
Managing and collecting debts from company debtors.
Setting up the terms of credit for new clients.
Negotiating payment plans and settlements
Managing the collection of all payments and debts efficiently.
Responding timeously to client inquiries
Processing of invoices and credit notes
Ensuring customer statements are sent timeously to customers.
Managing the sales ledger.
Liaising with customers and the sales team.
Ability to deal with problematic clients.
Ability to reconcile complex debtors accounts.
Initiate legal action against debtors who evade or refuse repayment according to the terms and conditions.
Manage bad and doubtful debts schedules.
