Our client in the Hospitality Sector, based in Durban (KZN), is currently looking to employ an experienced Crew Talent Acquisition Director.

The South Africa Crew Talent Acquisition Director is responsible for the productivity, efficiency and accuracy of the talent acquisition operations in South Africa and ensures the appropriate sourcing activities to meet financial and quality targets.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be fluent in English.
  • 10 years+ experience in Talent Acquisition, ideally in the cruise industry.
  • Previous experience in Luxury Brands is a plus, ideally with cruise lines or land-based properties.
  • Good knowledge of South African Labour.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office Package.
  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships and influence and challenge others in order to support and achieve results.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing process improvements, policies, and HR programs.
  • Ability to understand the complexity of issues and problems and to assist in developing and implementing best practices solutions to resolve issues.
  • Very flexible and ready to work in a fast-moving environment.

 

Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:

  • Monitors crewing and operational KPIs sets by the corporate departments and assists them in developing improvement plans for service delivery:
    • KPI’s implementation.
    • Talent Acquisition best practices.
    • Crew retention best practices.

Crew Talent Acquisition Activities:

  • Keeps the Corporate Team and Crew Office constantly updated about any employee change in the local recruitment and crewing teams.
  • Assists the Corporate team in formulating quarterly and yearly TA targets by closely monitoring expenditures and identifies solutions to minimize them without affecting service delivery.
  • Ensure a point-of-reference for all recruiting matters and ensures that the selected individuals are held accountable for the smooth execution of processes working.
  • Monitors adherence to operating standards, Client Recruiting Manual and best practices in order to provide candidates with all valid documentation according to the deadlines set forth by HQ.
  • Develops and shares monthly and quarterly reports outlining consolidation of recruiting targets, completion rates, challenges (if any) and proposes corrective actions if needed.
  • Requests support to the either of the brands Crew Development & Strategy Department when needed (e.g. massive recruitment actions, recruitment events).
  • Accountable to maintain proper flow of information between pipeline and deployment to ensure recruitment cycle is complete.
  • Drive, lead, motivate, and coach the team.
  • Identify initiatives to target specific luxury segments in order to support campaigns. In this regard, scouting initiatives are also put in place on a regular basis in the major luxury properties and schools/institutions in South Africa.
