Applications are invited from appropriately qualified and experienced staff from the University of Fort Hare for the above-mentioned position.
 

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:

• A Doctoral qualification in any of the disciplines offered in the Faculty of Health Sciences
• Minimum Associate Professor academic rank level
• At least 5 years’ experience in research and teaching in higher education environment
• At least three (3) years leadership experience in an academic environment
• A record of DHET-accredited research publication track record commensurate with the academic rank level
• A teaching, learning or an assessor’s qualification at a post graduate level.
• Knowledge of the Faculty’s qualifications, the University’s policies, rules and regulations; and of the national higher education and relevant professional body environment and requirements
• Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision, especially in Doctoral Degrees

• Registration with the HPCSA, SANC or SAPC in one of the categories that the Faculty offers training in / Eligible to be registered
• Evidence of fundraising and generating external research grants
• Evidence of experience in report writing

• The duties pertaining to the Deputy Dean post will be performed in addition to those pertaining to the incumbent’s substantive / primary position in the University.
• The incumbent will assist the Dean of the Faculty in relation to all matters that may be referred to him/her by the Dean; especially matters related to teaching, learning and research activities.
• He/she will report on these activities in writing to all relevant Faculty and University committees.
• These duties will include liaising with all Heads of Departments in order to collect information relating to teaching, learning and research activities.
• His/her duties will include chairing and/or attendance of all relevant Faculty and University teaching, learning and research meetings.
