JOB SUMMARY:
An Office Automation company based in the West Rand of Johannesburg is currently seeking a Direct Sales Manager for the responsibility to manage and motivate a sales team in order for them to manage and produce sales.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • PRODUCT TRAINING AND KNOWLEDGE:
    • Ensure sales people receive the necessary training on new, existing machines.
    • Regular reviewing of salesman’s product knowledge.
    • Demonstration skills.
    • Setting up of product knowledge tests.
  • STAFF DEVELOPMENT:
    • Selling skills: relevant training required
    • Interpersonal skills: utilizing leadership skills
    • Time management: plan and maintain time management program
    • Responsibility: delegating responsibilities and tasks – getting the job done
    • Setting objectives and ensuring achievement of them
    • Support sales staff on appointments when necessary
  • INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
    • Team building
    • Daily motivation
  • RECRUITMENT AND DISMISSAL:
    • Job description
    • Disciplinary and grievance procedures
    • Supply details for personnel departments
    • Dismissal of staff when necessary
  • IN FIELD EVALUATION, TRAINING AND MONITORING:
    • Evaluate through accounts reviews – 6 month period
    • Training programs where required
    • Monitoring performance and regularity
    • Customer visits and coaching
  • OFFICE MANAGEMENT:
    • Administration:
      • Calculating and finalizing commissions
      • Monthly sales projections
      • Ensure admin of external sales is done correctly and timorously
      • Monthly performance analysis
      • Leave forms
      • Monitoring of demo list
      • Evaluate performance monthly
      • Job description
      • Checking of all outgoing paperwork e.g. quotes, correspondence, pricing
      • Check and sign off commission sheet
      • Assist finance company i.e. approving deals
      • Asses weekly prospect lists
  • CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP:
    • Build customer relations and maintain them
    • Be responsible to customer needs
    • Entertain when necessary – Eagle Canyon
  • CONDUCT:
    • Neat and presentable at all times
    • Polite, tactful and courteous
    • Attendance of meetings and functions on time
    • Security
    • Neatness of workstation and immediate area
    • Prompt response to all messages, queries, complaints and instructions
    • Induce and maintain culture and standards
    • Maintain positive attitude
  • INFORMAL DISPUTES:
    • To prevent or settle disputes including the following:
      • Inter – team
      • Between division
      • Personnel disputes
      • Conflict on deal

AUTHORITY
To effectively expedite the key performance areas and comply with the standards set.
Should special circumstances arise, actions must be confirmed with the manager.

OTHER ASSIGNMENTS
To carry out any other assignments as and when requested to do so by my manager.
