SUMMARY:
An innovative financial services company redefining credit in Africa is searching for a talented Data Engineer with strong Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise. With operations across Zambia, Kenya, Uganda, and South Africa, this is your chance to build scalable data solutions that empower smarter decisions and real impact across the continent.

POSITION INFO:
Main Function & Culture
You’ll design, build, and optimise data pipelines on GCP, ensuring clean and structured data flows seamlessly across the business. You’ll collaborate with data teams to unlock insights while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that rewards initiative and curiosity.

Responsibilities:

Design and maintain scalable data pipelines using GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage)
Develop ETL processes to transform diverse data sources for reporting and analytics
Partner with data scientists and analysts to deliver actionable insights
Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across platforms
Automate workflows and optimise pipelines for performance and cost efficiency
Keep documentation up-to-date for clarity and consistency
Stay ahead of GCP trends, tools, and best practices

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
5+ years of Data Engineering experience
Strong coding skills (Python, SQL, BigQuery)
Expertise in ETL development and data modeling
Familiarity with data lakehouse concepts
Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills
Background in financial services would be advantageous
