POSITION INFO:
Our client is a wellâestablished and fastâgrowing organisation in the financial services sector, recognised as a market leader in its field. They are currently looking for an Intermediate Data Engineer to join their Cape Town–based team in a hybrid working environment.

This role is ideal for a technically strong Data Engineer who enjoys building scalable data solutions while continuously learning and evolving. You’ll work with modern tools, strong engineering standards, and teams that value collaboration, innovation, and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Build, optimise, and maintain data pipelines using Databricks and Apache Spark
Design and implement endâtoâend data flows and scalable architectures
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data solutions
Collaborate with crossâfunctional teams to deliver reliable, highâquality data platforms
Ensure data quality, performance, and scalability across systems
Continuously improve and modernise data engineering practices

Education:

Relevant IT / Computer Science qualification (Degree or Diploma)

Experience:

3–5 years’ experience as a Data Engineer
Proven experience working with Databricks
Strong background in Apache Spark and cluster computing
Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
Prior backend development experience advantageous
Exposure to Azure cloud services beneficial
