POSITION INFO:
Introduction Harmony Gold Mining Company is seeking a Data Engineer to deliver and maintain reliable data services and technological solutions. This role plays a key part in enabling data-driven decision-making by developing, managing, and optimising data systems, while ensuring data accuracy, governance, and compliance. Minimum Requirements NQF Level 6 qualification or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR 4-6 years' experience in Data Administration, Data Warehousing or Data Engineering (while pursuing relevant qualification) Strong analytical and programming skills Proficiency in Microsoft tools (Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel Preferred: Postgraduate qualification in Data Science\/Engineering Knowledge of data warehouse tools (e.g., DataStage, SSIS, ETL) Experience with integration platforms (e.g., WebMethods, Dell Boomi, Workato) Job Description Summary Develop and maintain enterprise data layers, data warehouses, and data lakes Ensure accuracy, reliability, and integrity of data to support audit and compliance requirements Deliver data solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and business requirements Build and manage data pipelines, ETL processes, and integration tools Support advanced analytics, big data technologies, and cloud data solutions Implement data governance practices to ensure compliance (e.g., POPI, SOX) Identify and mitigate data-related risks proactively Translate business needs into technical data solutions and provide data support Collaborate across departments to develop analytical tools, reports, and decision-support systems
