Data Product Owner - Johannesburg or Pretoria (Hybrid)

POSITION INFO:
Contract: 6 to 12 months (negotiable based on project scope) Working Model Hybrid: 3 days onsite | 2 days remote per week Purpose Our client is seeking an experienced Data Product Owner to manage business-facing data products throughout the product lifecycle. The successful candidate will define the product vision, roadmap, and backlog to maximise business value, improve data quality, and enable data-driven decision-making across the enterprise. Key Responsibilities Define and communicate the product vision, roadmap, and desired business outcomes. Own, manage, and prioritise the product backlog based on business value. Partner with business stakeholders to define and refine data product requirements. Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Architecture teams to deliver high-value data products. Drive improvements in data quality, accessibility, and usability. Define product success measures and monitor business outcomes and value delivery. Manage stakeholder engagement and product governance throughout the product lifecycle. Champion Agile Product Ownership and promote continuous product improvement. Requirements Proven experience as a Product Owner. Experience delivering Data or Analytics products. Strong understanding of Data Platforms and Analytics. Experience with product roadmap development and backlog management. Agile and Scrum delivery experience. Strong business analysis and stakeholder management skills. Knowledge of data quality and data governance principles. Experience measuring product success through value realisation and KPI management. Financial Services industry experience is advantageous. SAFe Product Owner\/Product Manager certification is preferred.
