SUMMARY:
A global Logistics and Infrastructure leader is seeking a Database Administrator (South Africa, hybrid role). The non-negotiables are 8+ years Microsoft SQL Server experieence, ITIL Certification, and ITSM operations.

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
ITIL Practitioner (v3) or ITIL Specialist (v4) – Mandatory
Microsoft Certified Database Administrator – Mandatory
ISO 27000 or other IT security training – Advantageous
Prince2, PMP or equivalent – Advantageous
Microsoft Active Directory and Windows Server knowledge – Added advantage
Oracle Database knowledge – Advantageous
French proficiency – Bonus

Requirements:

7–13 years of professional experience in IT
Minimum 8 years supporting Microsoft SQL Server (2016, 2019, and 2022)
Experience with IIS, WSUS, PowerShell, and Remote Desktop Services
Skilled in clustering, replication, load balancing, and virtualized infrastructure
Experience with ITSM systems, documentation, SLAs, and license management
Strong understanding of database design, modelling, capacity planning, and disaster recovery
Hands-on experience managing technical infrastructure projects
Familiar with Centreon monitoring, backup systems, and infrastructure testing
Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and data security enforcement skills

KPA’s:

Design, implement, and maintain SQL databases (Azure, DaaS, and private cloud)
Ensure performance tuning, capacity planning, backups, and disaster recovery readiness
Administer user access and security in collaboration with the security team
Oversee version migrations, bug patches, and UAT for infrastructure changes
Maintain infrastructure documentation, dashboards, logs, and monitoring tools
Manage IT hardware inventory, supplier contracts, and SLA compliance
Drive compliance with AGL IT Catalogue, ISO standards, and QHSE processes
Lead coordination between CIO, IT hubs, data centers, and service providers
Monitor daily/weekly/monthly operations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
