DEPARTMENT: GOVERNANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Deputy Registrar: Governance and Risk Management deputises for the Registrar in terms of statutory responsibilities to governance structures as well as to manage and take responsibility for the functions of the Office of the Registrar with a particular focus on governance, compliance and administration, including the university-wide risk management function.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Leads the Governance & Risk function for the university.
- Financial Planning & Budgeting
- Organisational Unit Staff Management
- Strategic Risk Management
- Institutional Governance & Secretariat Management
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:- An appropriate Master’s Degree
- A minimum of eight (8) years’ relevant experience, of which at least five (5) years must be in governance and risk management within a higher education institution, and an additional minimum of three (3) years at senior management level.
- Proven institutional governance experience in the higher education sector (essential)
- In-depth knowledge of the Higher Education Act and its implementation
ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGES:- LLB qualification
