Design & Development Engineer (Mining / Screening Industry)
Alberton, JHB
R40 000.00 - R43 000.00 CTC per month

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:

Matric
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
5-10 years relevant experience in manufacturing or mining environment
Lead full product lifecycle: design, development, prototyping, testing, and continuous improvement of products in a manufacturing/mining environment
Apply advanced SolidWorks CAD skills for technical drawings and engineering calculations; manage BOMs, costing, quoting, and ERP-related product structures
Analyse customer requirements to deliver technically sound, commercially viable solutions, with a strong focus on manufacturability (fabrication, machining, casting, tooling)
Drive cross-functional collaboration (sales, production, toolroom), oversee quality control and compliance, conduct site visits, and manage multiple projects within deadlines and budgets
Strong leadership and mentoring ability, excellent problem-solving and communication skills; screening equipment experience (e.g., vibrating screens) is an advantage
