Design Planning Manager

SUMMARY:
Manage, allocate and coordinate the day to day operation of the Graphic Design department. The incumbent will also have Graphic design related responsibilities.

POSITION INFO:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 3 - 5 years’ experience in managing a team
• IT literacy on an advanced level
• A formal Graphic design qualification
• Minimum of 5 years Graphic design experience
• Ability to communicate in English on an Advanced level

JOB SUMMARY:

• Manage the distribution and production of project workload of the in-house design team
• Set realistic timelines and manage client expectations
• Support the design team in delivering marketing collateral to marketing team fast and efficiently
• Provide quality control by overseeing the junior designer’s artwork, file formatting, quality and accuracy of final design
• Provide quality control of the briefs, ensuring all elements are available and clear before sending on to the relevant designer
• Meet with internal/external clients to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the project scope
• Provide the design team with collective feedback on design reverts that are to be actioned
• Developing the design team''s skills through mentoring, goal setting and training
• Set up and implement production processes and technical standards for design projects
• Provide feedback to brand managers on the status of projects regularly
• Evaluate designer’s performance through bi-annual KPI reviews
• Encourage open communication and a collaborative, professional approach amongst the team
• Ensure design team members software subscriptions are annually renewed
• Monthly credit card recon
• Provide external design agencies with brand assets and Adobe Stock as requested
• Digital asset management across brands
• Conduct meetings with design team members, individually and collectively on a regular basis
• Conceptualizing, creating and producing designs for our company’s internal marketing collateral, both print and digital.
• Implementing brand guidelines where appropriate and applying them to new artworks
• Effectively manage multiple briefs at a time, prioritising where necessary and providing updates where relevant
• Remain up-to-date with global trends and ensure a proper understanding of all brands
• Proofreading and preparing designs to be sent to print.
• Design independently as well as collaborate
