The client is based in Cape Town and established in 2005. They are looking for talented SRE Engineers to join their team. They specialise in development, integration and support functions for large mobile operators, banking industries and smaller private sector companies.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

B.SC Computer Studies/B.ENG Computer Engineering

5+ years’ experience in a DevOps/SRE position

Documentation

Strong technical writing skills (Standard operating procedures, guides)

Networking

Strong understanding of various network protocols/services and proven understanding of trouble-shooting network related issues

Security

Server hardening (Linux)

Incident response & Postmortem

Linux

Redhat & Debian

Installation, Administration, Troubleshooting

IT Automation

Ansible; proven understanding of automating installation & configuration of Redhat & Debian operating systems

Containers

Docker

k8s (OpenShift Origin)

CI/CD

Strong understanding of Git (gitflow)

Gitlab (OpenShift Integration)

Monitoring

Prometheus (TSDB, Blackbox exporter, node exporter, cadvisor, alert manager)

Grafana

Event Correlation

Splunk, Elasticsearch; familiar with parsing JAVA application logs (log4j)

Databases

PostgreSQL

Oracle
