Developer / Technical Lead

SUMMARY:
An industry leader specialising in Software and Digital Solutions is looking for a Full Stack Developer / Technical Lead to join their team.

POSITION INFO:

• The candidate will form part of the Switching Core Squad and will be responsible for ongoing Development of Mobile applications and Web Development.
• The position requires a self-motivated individual with senior level experience in software development who can perform a technical lead role.
• A typical project will require front-end, back-end and integration development using microservices architecture (full stack development).
• Candidates should contribute to improvements to our processes and systems and be involved in technical decision making.   
• Candidates should be able to work solo on some projects or as part of a team on others.

Other responsibilities could include the following:

• Automation of repetitive tasks where possible. (like building or maintenance tasks)
• Attend to system security.
• Research and recommend innovative approaches to improving efficiency.
• Provide 3rd level product support

Essential skills:

Required

• A tertiary Engineering or Computer Science degree.
• 5+ years experience as a software developer.
• A high degree of experience in Linux.
• Full-stack developer, or back-end, or front-end
• For back-end: Go (preferred) and/or Java and/or C/C++ programming.
• For front-end: Angular (preferred) and/or React and/or Vue.js.
• Networking and communication protocols and technologies including SOAP, JSON, XML, HTTP/S, TCP.
• Database engines and technologies such as MariaDB / MySQL, MongoDB.
• Web servers such as NGINX, Apache.
• Containerization technologies (Docker)
• Messaging bus technologies such as NATS, REDIS
• virtualization technologies, Cloud environments.
• Design of scalable, highly resilient, and high throughput software and systems.
• Telecommunications standards and protocols.
• Linux system administration, Bash/Python scripting
