Development Chemist - Industrial Coatings

SUMMARY:

An established manufacturer of industrial manufacturing and construction products is seeking an experienced Development Chemist to be responsible for new product development, the domestication of global formulations, raw material substitutions, quality support, and cost reduction initiatives.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements for the role: Must have a B. Sc. or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Polymer Science or related field Minimum 10-15+ years' experience in industrial\/protective coatings Proven experience with epoxies, polyurethanes, zinc-rich coatings, high-performance linings, etc. is required Must have experience in new product development and formulation transfer\/localisation Strong knowledge of coating performance testing and quality control The successful candidate will be responsible for: Developing new products and improving industrial coating formulations. Localising global products using regionally available raw materials. Leading raw material qualification, substitution and cost reduction projects. Conducting laboratory testing, product validation and QC support. Providing technical support to manufacturing, quality and commercial teams.
