A well-established company on the East Rand is looking for a Diesel and Generator Mechanic to join their team!
POSITION INFO:
Requirements
- 2 – 5 years of experience with diesel engines and generator systems
- Matric or equivalent qualification
- Learnership or Trade Qualification advantageous
- Experience with Diesel Engines and Generators
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong understanding of engine components, fuel systems, and electrical systems
- Skilled with diagnostic tools and repair equipment
Duties - Install, maintain and repair diesel-powered generators and engines
- Perform preventive maintenance and regular inspections on generators and diesel engines
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and fuel system issues
- Repair or replace defective parts in engines and generators using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment
- Rebuild engines and major components as necessary
- Perform load testing and monitor generator output
- Maintain service logs, repair records and parts inventory
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance comply with safety and environmental standards
- Communicate with clients or supervisors to coordinate service schedules and report issues
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and power outages when on-call
- Keep the work area clean, organized and safe
