Contract: 1 Year Fixed Term Contract (renewable)

Salary: R15 000-R20 000 per month

We are looking for an experienced Media Manager for our client operating across multiple sectors. The Media Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing all targeted content for various media platforms. The successful individual will be responsible for researching, writing, proofreading, and editing all media content. In addition, this person will implement and manage media campaigns, and deliver public relations and communications plans for the business.

The successful candidate should demonstrate a wide degree of creativity and latitude with a keen interest in shaping the client’s image and values through appropriate external communication mediums.

Media Manager Responsibilities:

Develop content for dissemination via media releases, social media, websites, and other distribution channels including email
Ensure that key messages align with vital business strategies.
Serve as the organization’s media liaison and formal spokesperson.
Conduct media conferences and briefings.
Scan the media marketplace to keep up-to-date on the latest media trends.
Monitor online and offline campaigns, and report on results.
Build and manage the organization's social media profile and presence.
Appropriately manage the organization’s media budget.

Essential Requirements:

Completed Bachelor’s degree in communications/media or related (essential).
2-3 years of work experience in all forms of media management.
Ability to create appropriate content for dissemination via press releases, social media, websites, and other distribution channels.
Ability to conduct press conferences and briefings.
Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and public speaking skills.
