CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

Provide dynamic, strategic, innovative and student centric leadership of Madibaz sport in pursuit of holistic student life and development

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

1. 1. Provide imaginative, anticipatory, and foresighted leadership to Madibaz sport in a changing world of university sport and sport in general.
2. 3. Develop, execute, and review strategic, tactical, and operational plans for Madibaz sport.
3. 4. Create, grow, and sustain internal and external partnerships that advance the mandate of Madibaz sport.
4. 5. Effectively manage human and financial resources of the department.
5. 6. Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan for Madibaz sport
6. 7. Expand, renew, and sustain the infrastructure and facilities of the department

2. Provide transformative and transformational leadership to Madibaz Sport.

CORE COMPETENCIES

• Advanced knowledge of sport science and associated approaches and practices
• In-depth knowledge of sport national policy, transformation imperatives, legislation and associated regulations
• Knowledge of the role of sport in student development
• Advanced knowledge of project management
• Advance knowledge of sport communication, marketing, and events management
• Advanced stakeholder engagement management, networking, and collaborative partnerships
• Advanced strategic management

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this position, candidates are required to possess the following:

• Honours Degree or equivalent in Human Movement Science, Sports Management, Public Management. Business Management
• 5 years’ experience in middle/senior management
• A possession of a Master’s Degree as well as knowledge of, and experience in higher education will be an added advantage.
