JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for an experienced Dispatch Supervisor for a busy Equipment and spares supply company in the Roodepoort area.

Responsibilities

Responsible for overall supervision of picking, packing, loading, routes, drivers and logistics
Supervising, coordinating, and providing leadership to the dispatch and collections department
Coordinate with team to plan and execute various projects.
Guide and assist team members in their assigned job responsibilities(team includes pickers, packers, drivers and assistants)
Supervise team members to meet quality and productivity targets
Assign daily tasks to team members and ensure that deadlines are met
Management of relevant expenses
Recommend process improvements to achieve departmental performance goals
Collaborate with the Manager in coaching, training, counselling, and disciplining of team members
Assist with the management of daily operational functions on all shifts - including planning, notifying the Manager of staffing issues and monitoring of customer orders
Ability to read bills of lading, packing lists, inventory manifests and order sheets within a busy warehouse environment
Organized with acute attention to detail
Lead, mentor and inspire team members to meet daily goals
Able to work with WMS system (SAP & Qwix), MS Office programmes such as (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
A personal commitment to safety, and ensuring team members follow the same commitment

Requirements

Grade 12

Relevant qualification in warehouse/logistics is preferred

Minimum of 5 to 8 years relevant warehouse, dispatch, collections and routing Supervisory experience is a must

Strong knowledge and understanding of routing/logistics in order to meet the daily expectations of the customers
Attention to detail and accuracy of capturing data, processing orders and requests

Computer literate - MS Office, SAP or similar with WMS is essential
Strong leadership skills
Ability to communicate with all levels of staff
Adaptable to change in a pressurised customer delivery environment
