JOB SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a Distribution Controller to be responsible for the optimal distribution and collection of product while ensuring the optimal utilization of the vehicle fleet to meet business needs whilst maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs. May participate in the development of the strategies of the business and understands the need for an effective transportation and distribution function to support them.

Responsibilities

Optimal deliveries/collections
Managing the distribution of products and collection of incoming raw materials (where applicable)
Developing and confirming schedules Coordinating drivers, vehicles, loads and journeys
Managing the Debriefing process of returning vehicles with empty containers and failed deliveries. Managing the operation of appropriate IT Planning systems
Managing the maintenance of vehicles and forklifts
Negotiating and agreeing contracts
Manage relationships to Service providers for Forklifts and trucks Compliant logistics operations
Preparing paperwork for regulatory bodies (Including licensing of vehicles)
Ensuring health and safety standards are met
Compliance with company’s policies and vision Enabled logistics operations Liaising with and managing staff and shifts
Overseeing distribution staff and fleet and maintenance of vehicles and forklifts Optimisation of fleet and forklift utilization
Interact with Staff who are users of Forklifts and Trucks to ensure safe and efficient usage thereof
