Donor Logistics Coordinator

An international NPO that facilitates the process of donor recruitment (peripheral blood stem cell donation (PBSC) or bone marrow donation), matching a donor to a patient and ensuring that the process runs as smoothly is looking for a Logistics Coordinator. As human lives depend on the efficiency of this crucial service, you will be tasked with very time sensitive coordination in a process that has very little room for error. An understanding of urgency and a focus on accuracy is a critical character trait that will make you invaluable to this cause and affect lives in a live saving situation.

The Logistics Coordinator has to ensure that the supply chain workflow is optimised and extremely effective through initiating and supervising the process, arranging sample transport and liaising with role players to make sure they adhere to set SLA's and deadlines. Timeous follow ups on collections and deliveries as well as implementation of alternative plans are crucial and you will be reporting these situations to Management and stakeholders. 

A tertiary qualification in Logistics / Supply Chain and work experience in an administrative logistics role is required (previous experience in a similar role is highly preferred) as well as your own car and valid driver's license.
