Draughtsman

POSITION INFO:
The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Draughtsman for a 12-month fixed term contract for Lephalale in the Limpopo Province.

 

We are looking for suitable resources that currently reside in Lephalale in the Limpopo Province.

 

We require a minimum of 8 Yearsâ?? work experience in Structural / Civil  Draughting, we are looking for experience with SIMS (Structural Integrity Management System).

 

Working experience with Mega Projects in the Mining and Construction Industry is essential for this role.

 

Purpose of the role:

• To develop innovative applications of 3-D modelling and other design software.

 

 

Minimum educational level:                                                      

• Certificate Mine Survey Draughting
• National Diploma in Engineering
• B Tech in Engineering
• Draughting Certificate

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Apply innovative 3-D modelling and other drawing office related design software
• Integrate info and liaise with engineering disciplines/SHE personnel
• Communicate/report to clients with regard to design/draughting matters
• Attend to conceptual/basic/detail/manufacturing designs/drawings
• Prepare conceptual designs/system layout drawings and expand into detailed plans/drawings
• Maintain safety/quality/environmental integrity on designs
• Create Arrangements/Lay-outs/Sections/ Elevations/Details
• Participate in evaluation of discipline-specific standards, principles and practice
• Participate in implementation of appropriate quality management systems
• Contribute to development and implementation of an appropriate approach to knowledge management for discipline in line with business needs
• Comply with legislation within designated area
• Recognise, understand and take action to manage risks
• Participate in development and maintenance of governance systems for best practice
• Adhere to requirements of quality management systems
• Adhere to Enterprise Project Management Standards
• Deliver milestones on schedule
• Ensure drawing control in native format via centralised capturing system
• Make drawings for manufacturing and construction
• Update revised as-built drawings for sign off and archiving
• Identify and support service performance improvement opportunities
• Support development and implementation of systems and initiatives to drive performance excellence
• Create, inspire and lead high-performance teams and implement successful change initiatives
• Coordinate optimal utilisation of resources
• Mentor individuals / contractors / consultants, formally and informally (as applicable)
• Provide expert consulting to project teams / BU''s
• Adhere to all health/safety practices and promote good housekeeping on an ongoing basis
• Address all unsafe practices/potential hazardous situations, rectify/
• report to superior
• Comply with SHEC/tech requirements
• Wear applicable PPE at all times
