JOB SUMMARY:
Our client, a large company specialising in general and hazardous waste, with over 26 years industry experience, currently seeks your SHEQ expertise. Reporting to the SHEQ Manager:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Person:

Degree or Diploma related to Environment and/or Safety (pref both).
SAMTRAC, NEBOSH or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in monitoring, implementing and auditing SHE.
Experience with the transport and waste environment an advantage.
Legal requirements - Health, Safety, Environment.
ISO 14001:2015; ISO45001:2018.

The Job:

Develop and maintain systems to ensure company compliance with relevant Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.
Undertake risk assessments.
Compile safety files for major clients and ensure compliance with the signed S37(2) agreements.
Conclude S37(2) agreements with service providers.
Facilitate training requirements including toolbox talks.
Maintain up to date training matrix.
Ensure adequate policies, procedures and work instructions are available and updated.
Manage the EHS Committee.
Promote EHS awareness.
Perform internal audits and job observations.
Ensure incidents and accidents are investigated. Enforce timely closure of corrective action and ensure preventative measures.
Deal with Workman’s Compensation claims.
Communicate with Senior Management on EHS issues.
Draft monthly report of EHS matters.
