Join a multi-disciplinary engineering firm that has existed since 1953. We are looking for an Electrical/Instrumentation Field Engineer.

POSITION INFO:
Job Description:
This is a full-time on-site role for an E&I Field Engineer, located in Durban (and various sites around SA as required). The E&I Field Engineer will provide field specific technical leadership and support to the E&I design team including conducting field audits, managing Contractor budgets and schedules, and developing and maintaining client relationships. The E&I Field Engineer will also be responsible for Quality Assurance (QA) checks of Contractor Quality Control (QC) documentation, physical verification that the installation is built to the Design Engineers intent and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. Other activities will include commissioning assistance of electrical and instrumentation systems and project handover duties.

Qualifications:

A qualification in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering or a related field (Minimum Electrician / Technician).
Minimum of 10 years hands-on experience in E&I field installations, testing and commissioning.
Knowledge of LV, MV, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, PLC’s, field instrumentation.
Experience with codes and standards including SANS and IEC.
Experience working in a project team, including managing budgets and schedules.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to travel to client sites as needed.
