ENGINEERING MANAGER: ELECTRICAL (Manufacturing)

SUMMARY:
We are recruiting for an experienced and qualified ENGINEERING MANAGER – ELECTRICAL with extensive experience in heavy engineering / manufacturing environment. Must have experience and ability to re-design electrical systems and excellent management and leadership skills.

POSITION INFO:

ENGINEERING MANAGER: ELECTRICAL (Manufacturing)
Market Related Salary Package (8 -10 years exp level)
Cape Town, Western Cape

We are recruiting for an experienced and qualified ENGINEERING MANAGER – ELECTRICAL with extensive experience in heavy engineering / manufacturing environment. Must have experience and ability to re-design electrical systems and excellent management and leadership skills.

Essential requirements (Not Negotiable):

• Must have an Electrical Engineering Degree
• A post grad qualification will be beneficial
• 8 to 10 years experience / exposure in manufacturing
• Extensive people management experience and good leadership skills
• Exceptional Analytical skills and abilities
• Ability and experience in re-designing of electrical systems
• Project management experience
• Must have your own reliable transport
• Must have a valid driver’s license

Other requirements:

• Able to work in a pressurized and demanding environment
• Good communication skills
• Work overtime due to process demands
• Attend to call outs as and when required (we are looking for a hands-on manager)
• Ability to manage and coordinate a team

Your responsibilities will include:

• Manage and be accountable for the Electrical department teamwork output and allocation
• Manage and maintain an acceptable quality of work performed
• Manage Electrical team discipline, time keeping and attendance
• Manage maintenance budgets and capital expenditures
• Provide Technical expertise and Leadership
• Attend daily Production and Engineering meetings
• Liaise with Engineering Team and Production Divisions, regarding job priorities and breakdowns
• Liaise with HR in respect of any staff related issues that do arise
• Maintaining service records of electrical equipment
• Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements
• Develop and train new and junior staff members
• Practice and apply Health and Safety practices
• Planning and managing of routine jobs, unscheduled breakdowns, staff utilization
• Preventative Maintenance Practice – maintain systems – based (C- works) program
• Procure materials for tasks and projects
• Ensure that you understand the 24/7 operational needs and facilitate production goals
• Issue direct and clear instructions to Electrical foreman and team
• Participate in the RCM program
• Read and use electrical diagrams
• Ensure work standards are achieved
• Ensure the effective use of resources.
