Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical & Hydraulic Draughtsman to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate electrical and hydraulic schematics, layouts, and detailed drawings for underground mining equipment. This role is critical in converting design concepts and field requirements into fully functional and manufacturable documentation. The draughtsman will work closely with design engineers, electricians, hydraulic specialists, and the production team to ensure practical, compliant, and cost-effective designs. Key Responsibilities: Produce detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts. Develop hydraulic circuit diagrams, piping layouts, and component integration drawings. Generate 2D (and where applicable 3D) CAD drawings for systems and assemblies. Interpret and incorporate design specifications, site measurements, and engineering inputs. Ensure all drawings comply with relevant standards and industry practices. Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for electrical and hydraulic systems. Manage drawing revisions and maintain proper document control. Collaborate with engineers, workshop personnel, and suppliers to resolve design issues. Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement of existing systems. Ensure designs are practical, safe, and manufacturable. Requirements Draughting Certificate or Diploma (Electrical\/Mechanical preferred) - N4-N6 or equivalent. Minimum 3-5 years' experience in electrical and\/or hydraulic draughting. Experience in mining equipment or heavy engineering will be advantageous. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD essential; SolidWorks or similar beneficial). Strong understanding of: Electrical systems (control panels, wiring, instrumentation) Hydraulic systems (circuits, valves, pumps, actuators) Ability to read and produce detailed technical drawings and schematics. Knowledge of relevant standards and symbols for electrical and hydraulic drawings. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
